dperf - a 100Gbps network load tester

dperf is a 100Gbps network load tester based on DPDK. In a single server, it can generate:

• tens of millions of new connections per second (CPS),
• hundreds of millions of packets per second (PPS),
• billions of concurrent connections (CC),
• hundreds of Gbps of throughput (TPS).

It supports HTTP, TCP, UDP, IPV4, IPV6, VLAN, VXLAN. It is great for testing layer 4 load balancers and network interfaces.

• CPU: X86-64, ARM64, LoongArch.
• OS: Linux.
• NIC: DPDK Supported NICs.
• DPDK versions: 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24.

Author

Jianzhang Peng. I got a Ph.D. in computer networks from USTC. I previously worked as a staff engineer in the load balancing team at Baidu Cloud, where I developed dperf. I have left Baidu, but I am still maintaining the dperf project. At present, my primary research is focused on low-latency network architecture for quantitative trading systems.
